Development perspectives and objectives for the Seaport Stade

The Seaport Stade, together with local industry and commerce, is outstandingly important for the economic development of the region. Therefore, the objective is to sustain and develop the port location and to market it nationally. The Seaport Stade offers multifunctional use with production companies, services and logistics including multi-modal transport connections!

Where do we want to go?

Coastal locations are increasingly seen as predestined for import and export oriented manufacturing in conjunction with the associated handling and logistics services. Thus commercial and industrial areas in coastal environs gain substantial importance. Especially the seaport Stade offers many potential areas for this purpose.

Harbour expansion

The Seaport Stade is economic and development location very favorably situated on navigable water. In order to fully exploit this potential for the region, a second port expansion of 20 ha is to be realised quickly.

Motorway connection

The A26 will connect the Seaport Stade to the A7 intersection and the A1. Furthermore, the fifth construction phase of the A26 ensures the connection between the coastal motorway A20, and the Elbe tunnel near Drochtersen.

Rail connection

The Seaport Stade’s existing rail link will be moved from the city to run parallel to the A26. This will greatly increase the overall rail freight performance. The goal is to realise cross-modal and tri-modal transportation concepts.

Lower Elbe Cooperation

The Lower Elbe is a region with many similarities and economic potentials. It is only possible to utilise these potentials optimally through closer cooperation, which generates economic added value and goes beyond mere exchange of information. Thus the Seaport Stade is committed to a number of projects and works closely with various initiatives such s the Hafenkooperation Unterelbe (Lower Elbe Harbour Cooperation).
